In order to cutdown on production costs and to better streamline its OTA updates, Samsung released a singular flagship phone, the SGS3 on all major carriers with little to no differences between each model.

For the dev community, this makes it easier to port custom roms across all SGS3 carrier handsets. However, Verizon has locked down the ability to root using the basic Odin methods.

A petition on XDA had started for Verizon to unlock the bootloader for their SGS 3 variant.
